The driver is completely on his own. This needs to be practiced. How do you avoid an obstacle without ABS? What options do drivers have if the rear of the classic car swerves? These and other questions about driving dynamics with classic cars will be answered in June in special classic car driving training sessions.
The ACS is offering two courses on this subject at the Road Safety Center Thurgau AG, Dufourstrasse 76, 8570 Weinfelden. Course 1 will be held on Friday, June 3, 2016, 17.30 to 20.30. Course 2 will be held on Friday, June 10, 2016, 5:30 to 8:30 pm. This will be followed by an Apéro Riche. Classic cars up to the year 1986 are admitted.
Course content and prices
At the beginning there is a short theory part. The practical part of the course includes exercises on the topics of experiencing forces, braking, braking/evasive action, cornering and driving in circles. The exercises take place partly on sliding surfaces with irrigation.
The cost, including an aperitif, is CHF 120 for ACS members and CHF 150 for non-members. Registrations can still be made until May 17, 2016.
