The 2016 Swiss Rally Championship began with the 27th Int. Rallye Pays du Gier around the town of Saint Chamond in France. Sébastien Carron took the lead of the 108-car field on the very first short stage, followed by three-time Gier winner Ivan Ballinari (both Ford Fiesta R5).

Volkswagen: New commercial vehicle center in Givisiez

After Uster, Grenchen and Muttenz, a fourth regional competence center for VW commercial vehicles has been in operation just outside Fribourg in Givisiez since this week. According to Alvaro Rico, District Manager for Commercial Vehicles at importer AMAG, ten more such centers are planned throughout Switzerland by 2019, with the next one to follow in Ticino.

More than 50 GT3 teams prepared for the upcoming Blancpain GT Series with two days of testing at the Circuit Paul Ricard in Le Castellet. In 2016, the series consists of five endurance races lasting between three and 24 hours as well as five double races lasting 60 minutes each.
