YOUNG DRIVER CHALLENGE A dream came true for Gustavo Xavier on the first weekend in August. As the first of the three finalists in the "AutoScout24 Young Driver Challenge powered by SEAT", the Zurich native competed in an ADAC TCR Germany race at the Nürburgring. 1

FORMULA E The worst-case scenario came true. After his absence in New York, Sébastien Buemi also failed to score any points in the FIA Formula E finale in Canada. The long-time defending champion had to relinquish the lead in the standings on the final race weekend. 1

GT-SPORT The strongest Swiss drivers were unable to take advantage of their good starting position. Only Edoardo Mortara and Raffaele Marciello, driving Mercedes cars for Italy, and the Ferrari team led by Ronnie Kessel from Ticino achieved a podium finish in the 24-hour race in Belgium. 1

MOTORSPORT The two Stuttgart-based car manufacturers are changing their motorsport strategies and entering the FIA Formula E. Porsche will end its sports car involvement prematurely at the end of 2017, while Mercedes will turn its back on the DTM at the end of 2018. 1
