Aston Martin: Supertourer still with V8 power 🎥

DYNAMIC AND ELEGANT With the new DB12, Aston Martin once again aims to set standards in terms of drive performance, design and luxury equipment. As before, the classic supertourer is powered by a 4-liter V8 biturbo engine.

The announcement of the DB12 comes in a year when Aston Martin is celebrating not only the 110th anniversary of the company, but also the 75th anniversary of the DB model range. According to the manufacturer, the new generation of the legendary DB model series represents a further step forward in terms of sportiness and dynamics.

Top speed 325 km/h

The DB12 is equipped with a 4-liter V8 biturbo gasoline engine that delivers 800 Nm between 2750 and 6000 rpm and 680 hp at 6000 rpm. Numerous technical highlights such as the new suspension system with adaptive shock absorbers, the electronic rear differential and the 21-inch Michelin Pilot Sport 5 S tires ensure that the power can be optimally transferred to the road.

The limits of grip and traction can be gradually and safely explored with a newly designed stability control system and five driving modes. The acceleration time from 0 to 100 km/h is 3.6 seconds, and the top speed is 325 km/h.

Once again, Aston Martin combines sportiness with elegance in the new DB12.

Carbon ceramic brake as an option

Power is transmitted via an 8-speed automatic transmission. The shortened axle ratio and special transmission tuning ensure even more powerful acceleration, and gear changes are now even faster. In addition, the bonded new aluminum structure of the DB12 has seven percent greater torsional stiffness, and the electronic power steering has been perfected. The DB12 is optionally available with carbon ceramic brakes, which reduce brake fade and save 27 kilograms of unsprung mass compared to the standard brake system.

Bowers & Wilkins sound system

The DB12 features an all-new interior. Aston Martin's bespoke infotainment system includes a range of connectivity technologies as well as the surround sound system from audio partner Bowers & Wilkins. Naturally, high-quality v erishing and fine materials are also on offer. Deliveries from the second half of the year, prices are not yet known.

Polestar Candela
The Candela C-8 Polestar Edition is a boat almost like a car.

Imagination of luxury at sea

The Candela C-8 Polestar Edition brings Polestar's idea of luxury to the marine industry. A new exterior color, complemented by a lighter shade of gray on the interior, gives the boat an elegant look. This is reinforced by the use of the same textile material throughout the boat. Design upgrades also incorporate know-how from the automotive industry, in the form of specially developed seat upholstery.

Electric direct drive with 75 kW

Candela C-8 uses 75-kW direct electric propulsion and appears to fly on computer-controlled wings. The hull is lifted above the water at high speeds to reduce energy consumption by up to 80 percent compared to conventional powerboats. The special edition is available online at the Polestar Additionals web store or at Candela.com and is supplied by Candela. Prices start at 400,000 euros.

Skoda: Partnership goes into the next round

FUTURE The sponsorship agreement with HC Davos and the Spengler Cup with Škoda Switzerland continues. The brand has supported the oldest international ice hockey team tournament as a mobility sponsor since 2007.

Skoda partnership
The new fleet of Škoda vehicles was of course handed over to HC Davos in Davos.

Škoda Switzerland provides mobility with its vehicles at the Spengler Cup; and since 1993, Škoda Auto has been the main sponsor of the Ice Hockey World Championship and claims the record in the Guinness Book of Records for the longest sports sponsorship of a world championship.

Markus Kohler, Brand Director Škoda Switzerland: "Dynamism, team spirit, precision and the will to achieve top performance - all attributes that apply to Škoda as well as to the Spengler Cup and HC Davos."

Cooperation over years

The connection to HC Davos also goes back to a long tradition. Already from 2001 to 2015 and again from 2019 until today, HC Davos puts great trust in Škoda vehicles.

Markus Kohler: "I am particularly pleased that, as part of the contract extension, we are able to provide the OC of the Spengler Cup Davos and those responsible for HC Davos with 16 Škoda Enyaq iV and five Enyaq Coupé RS iV."

Now purely electric on the road

All vehicles in the new fleet have 4×4 drive - a decisive criterion in a mountain region like Davos. The all-electric Enyaq iV marks the beginning of a new era. The model is the brand's first production model based on the VW Group's modular electrification kit (MEB).

Rimac: 23 world records in just one day 🎥

RICH BEATS With the Nevera hypercar, Rimac set 23 world records in just one day. The car managed the acceleration and braking maneuver from 0 to 400 km/h and back to 0 in just 29.93 seconds.

Accelerating from a standstill to 400 km/h and braking back to a standstill is an important discipline in the small circle of the very fastest. The Rimac Nevera managed this on the Automotive Testing Papenburg test track in just 29.93 seconds, beating the existing world record by more than a second. In total, the four-engined Nevera secured 23 official speed records (see list).

Sprint to 96 km/h in 1.74 seconds

During the record day, the Nevera managed the sprint from 0 to 60 mph (miles per hour, about 96 km/h) in 1.74 seconds. All acceleration records were completed with a standard one-foot rollout and were performed on road-legal Michelin Cup 2 R tires.

Mate Rimac, founder and CEO of Rimac Automobili: "When we developed the Nevera, our performance targets were incredibly ambitious. But we managed to actually exceed them. But the car is not just a high-performance sports machine; it can travel a good 500 kilometers on one battery charge and can be recharged from 0 to 80 percent in less than 20 minutes."

Maximum total power of 1914 hp

Two engines each are installed on the front and rear axles, delivering a maximum total output of 1408 kW (1914 hp). The manufacturer puts the maximum torque at 2360 Nm. Tuning: BMW M3 station wagon as a Swiss power package

THERE'S MORE The G81 series, based on the current M3/M4 generation from BMW, was launched in November 2022. Now Dähler is giving the power station wagon a comprehensive optimization package with its Competition Line.

Counter BMW M3
The Dähler version of the BMW M3 Touring is in many details even sportier than the already extremely agile production model.

The BMW M3 Touring came to put the fear of God into the AMG C63S Estate and the Audi RS4. And of course the tuner from Belp near Berne with the Competition Line did not waste any unnecessary time in tailoring an optimization package for the Munich express station wagon. As usual, the Swiss specialists focused on technical refinements.

Powered by Dähler up to 630 hp

As standard, the 3-liter inline-six biturbo installed in the M3 Touring Competition already delivers 650 Nm and 510 hp. On request, Dähler can boost this to 720 Nm and 610 hp in stage 1 or 740 Nm and 630 hp in stage 2. The range also includes sports air filters and a carbon intake system. Instead of the original exhaust system, Dähler places a high-performance complete system made of stainless steel with bi-flap control.

Fine tuning for the chassis

The tuner offers several suspension variants. The first is a set of sport springs that lowers the front axle by 28 millimeters and the rear axle by 15 millimeters. The high-performance coilover suspension offers further enhanced driving dynamics and deeper adjustment options. With its height and firmness adjustment in compression and rebound damping as well as high and low speed ranges, it allows an individual setup to be set.

All around 21 inch forged wheels

To upgrade the braking system, sport brake pads and steel braided lines complete the range, and in addition Dähler Competition Line provides the M3 Touring on 21-inch forged wheels all round. To enhance the bodywork, Dähler developed a carbon front spoiler lip that gives the fast station wagon an independent nose design.

All other data as well as price and equipment are available on request.

BMW: Concept Touring Coupé remains a dream 🎥

UNIKAT For years, fans have been dreaming of a BMW Z4 Shooting Brake - and now the brand is delivering a spectacular study called the Concept Touring Coupé that doesn't exactly diminish the desire.

More than a quarter of a century has passed since BMW unveiled a derivative of the Z3 roadster, a genuine Shooting Brake, a two-door, coupé-like estate car, at the 1997 IAA. In mid-1998, the car went into production as the BMW Z3 Coupé, and today it has become a sought-after youngtimer.

BMW Concept Touring Coupé
At the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este on Lake Como, BMW showed the Concept Touring Coupé study.

Luggage suitable for car

The Concept Touring Coupé is a particularly beautiful interpretation of the shooting-brake concept. Apart from a few details, the long front corresponds to the Z4, which also contributes doors and taillights. But the side windows swing boldly upward behind the doors, the gently sloping roof is raised Zagato-style on the left and right, and a tailgate with a relatively low loading edge allows access to the generous trunk, which offers plenty of room for luggage. And in this case, that comes from the fine Schedoni manufactory in Modena (gallery on the left).

Inside tasteful leather

The dashboard of the two-seater is the same as the current Z4, but is covered in tasteful leather. The gray-brown paint called Lario and the two-tone, dark brown and saddle brown Poltrona Frau leather inside show the potential and elegance of the Z4's design. The tastefully elitist look of the study is all the more surprising and pleasing given the unnecessarily aggressive appearance of the roadster production version since fall 2022, with the jagged shapes of the formerly optional M Sport package.

Drive with in-line six-cylinder

It is unlikely that BMW will put the study into series production. Yet there should be a real fan base for such an individual car, which is also powered by the most emotional engine imaginable for lovers of the brand. Namely, an inline six-cylinder engine that functions according to the classic gasoline principle.
