Alfa Romeo is commemorating the brand's first victory in the Mille Miglia with two limited-edition special models. Only 275 examples of the Giulia Quadrifoglio Super Sport will be produced, and the number of Stelvio Quadrifoglio Super Sport models is even limited to 175. The Super Sport designation of the two 520 hp special models is a tribute to the Alfa Romeo 6C 1500 Super Sport. Giuseppe Campari won the Mille Miglia in April 1928 with a racing car of this type. It was the first of a total of eleven victories for the Alfa Romeo works team in the 1000-mile road race from Brescia to Rome and back.

Special models in detail
The two special models are characterized by the redesigned Quadrifoglio logo and the additional carbon fibre components, such as the caps of the exterior mirrors. The roof of the new models is optionally made of this lightweight composite material. Further distinguishing features are the dark alloy wheels with diameters of 19 and 21 inches respectively. The body colors Rosso Etna, Nero Vulcano and Bianco Alfa are available.

The Super Sport models are powered by the 2.9-liter V6 engine, which delivers 520 hp and transmits its power to the rear wheels in the Giulia and to all four wheels in the Stelvio. A mechanical limited slip differential in the rear axle optimizes traction in all driving conditions. The use of carbon for the propshaft, hood, spoiler and side skirts guarantees perfect driving dynamics in the special models, while the exhaust system from Akrapovič ensures an unmistakable sound.

The Renault 5 E-Tech 100% electric will be available from 2025 in the five trim levels Five, Equilibre, Techno, Iconic Five and as a special Roland-Garros model. Techno and Iconic Five will be the first versions available to order. Both have the 52 kWh battery with a range of up to 410 kilometers according to WLTP. Orders will be extended to all versions from 2025.

Two ranges
The Renault 5 E-Tech 100% electric is available with two battery versions. The Comfort Range battery, with which the first vehicles available to order are equipped, is combined with the 110 kW electric motor developed by Renault subsidiary Ampere, which accelerates the Renault 5 E-Tech 100% electric from 0 to 100 km/h in less than eight seconds. Thanks to the 100 kW DC on-board charger for connection to fast charging stations, the battery can be charged from 15 to 80 percent of its capacity in 30 minutes.

The Urban Range battery has a capacity of 40 kWh for a range of up to 300 kilometers. The Renault 5 E-Tech 100% electric equipped in this way will be launched from 2025 at a starting price of 24,900 francs. Five colors will be available at market launch.

Lots of storage space
The interior offers 19 liters of storage space, which can be customized with 3D-printed accessories from the factory in Flins. The Renault 5 E-Tech 100% electric is also available with a special woven wicker basket for fresh baguettes. The two versions available to order at market launch come with a wide range of equipment features as standard: Heat pump, 11 kW AC charger, fast charger for up to 100 kW, automatic climate control, 18-inch Techno and Chrono wheels.

The Touring Club Switzerland runs an online portal to compare the child seats available on the market. As new child seat models are constantly coming onto the market and the differences in quality are often considerable, the mobility club tests the models twice a year. In the current child seat test, 24 models in all sizes were evaluated in terms of safety, operation, ergonomics and pollutant content.

15 of the seats tested were rated "highly recommended", seven models were rated "recommended". Some of these seats clearly exceed the legal requirements, and the higher requirements of the consumer protection test were taken into account during development.

Two exceptions
However, two models are not recommended. In April, while the crash tests for the comparative test were still ongoing, the TCS published a warning against the Viaggio Twist + Base Twist model from the manufacturer Peg Perego. The crash test revealed serious safety problems, which is why the TCS strongly advises against the use and purchase of this seat. The Italian manufacturer reacted to the results of the test and temporarily stopped further deliveries to dealers.
The Silver Cross Discover i-Size model also received the rating "not recommended" due to its pollutant content. The upholstery fabric contains the plasticizer DPHP in a quantity that is well above the limit set in the quality certificate.

Before buying a child car seat, parents should find out what is available. The results of the current child seat test and those of previous years can help. The new Mini John Cooper Works will make its first appearance at the beginning of June at this year's Nürburgring 24 Hours, one of the toughest endurance races in the world. The new petrol-engined Mini John Cooper Works, still wrapped in camouflage for the time being, pays homage to the iconic red and white color scheme that was used for classic Minis in motorsport back in the 1960s.

Gasoline or electricity
The new model, which will celebrate its world premiere in the fall, marks an important milestone in Mini's commitment to innovation and tradition. The new Cooper Works models will be available with either a petrol engine or electric drive. Alluding to the historic victory with the Mini Cooper S at the 1964 Monte Carlo Rally 60 years ago, the racing car features a striking "37" logo.

Race-proven brand
The Mini John Cooper Works with the starting number 317 will be entered by the private racing team Bulldog Racing from Nürburg and will compete in the SP 3T category. The twin-power turbo racing car with the name Mini John Cooper Works Pro combines the characteristic Mini design with Bulldog Racing's proven expertise on the race track. The second starter - the black, hand-shifted car with the starting number 474 - already proved its reliability last year at the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring and secured a podium finish for the Mini brand in the VT-2 class. The Morgan Motor Company and Pininfarina S.p.A. proudly present the open-top two-seater Midsummer. The two traditional coachbuilders have created a roadster with classic Morgan lines, standard drive and modern design influences. The production run will remain at 50 units.

Car with cult potential
The new model is based on Morgan's CX aluminum platform and is powered by a turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine via an 8-speed automatic transmission. The NXT Gen Cup is an innovative racing series with a focus on young motorsport talent. An LRT NXT1, which is based on the road-legal Mini Cooper SE, serves as the race car. With the up to 170 kW (230 hp) electric racer, the juniors already impressed with thrilling one-make cup fights at the ADAC events at the Nürburgring and in the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben in the premiere year 2023.

Strict program
In the 2024 season, the youngsters of the NXT Gen Cup will contest twelve races on German soil over four weekends. The season opener with the first double-header is already a highlight. The Norisring, the street circuit in Nuremberg, will be the venue from July 5 to 7. This is followed by the second event at the Nürburgring from August 16 to 18, and the second double-header awaits the drivers at the Sachsenring from September 6 to 8. With the exhibition "Dreamaway - Lamborghini through the eyes of the world", Automobili Lamborghini is transforming the company headquarters in Sant'Agata Bolognese into a museum, opening the doors to a dream world. A total of 114 exhibits, commissioned by Lamborghini dealers and created by renowned artists over the course of 2023, will celebrate the company and its 60-year history. The exhibition will open on Saturday, May 18, one day before International Museum Day 2024.

Inspired by the place of origin
Now the creations from all over the world are returning to the spotlight at the heart of the company. All the works, ranging from spray paintings and oil paintings to sculptures and photographs, are intended to reflect the spirit of the car manufacturer from Sant'Agata on the one hand and the different cultures of the artists' countries of origin on the other. In keeping with the exhibition title Dreamaway, it is an invitation to dream and to embark on a journey through a cosmopolitan perspective.

From airbrush to carbon
The choice of materials and techniques also influenced the location where the works are exhibited. Works in carbon fiber are on display in the composites department, while an entirely airbrushed hand-painted hood can be seen at the entrance to the paint shop. Despite the diversity of the works, they all evoke the heritage of the Lamborghini brand and the company's futuristic vision.
