WHERE TO MEET On October 7, a leisure and fun event centered around the new Ineos Grenadier will take place on Lake Constance near Flawil in eastern Switzerland. The festival is intended to bring together the fan community of the off-roader.

Hedin Automotive Schweiz AG, importer of the Ineos Grenadier off-roader, invites you to a Family & Friends Community Get-together in the great outdoors on Saturday, October 7, from 11 am to 6 pm. The Ineos Grenadier Festival Switzerland holds an exciting day program full of highlights around the new off-roader.

Ineos Grenadier
With the Ineos Grenadier as a camping vehicle you can experience vacations of a special kind.

Presentation of the Quartermaster

A special highlight will be the presentation of the new Grenadier body variant Quartermaster for its Swiss market launch. This model celebrated its world premiere at this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed. The double cab pick-up was developed in parallel with the Station Wagon and therefore also offers the same off-road capability and reliability.

The Quartermaster has almost the same architecture as the Station Wagon, but its robust ladder frame is 305 millimeters longer. This results in a loading area with a length of 1.56 meters and a width of 1.62 meters. With a payload of 760 kilograms and a towing capacity of 3500 kilograms, the Quartermaster can transport five people and the bulkiest loads. Its 3-liter in-line six-cylinder engine is available as a gasoline or diesel engine, as in the base model.

Test drives in the offroad area

Grenadier models in off-road and camping versions will be on display at the festival, and experts will also be on hand to answer questions about the cars. In addition, there is the possibility of test drives. Offroad, the cars will prove their off-road capabilities. Also there will be exhibition partners from the offroad and overlander sectors, as well as workshops, tire mending classes and live music. Admission to the festival is free, but online registration is required.

Renault: Now the Trafic is also available as a Stromer 🎥

COMPLETE The Trafic E-Tech Electric completes Renault's range of all-electric utility vehicles. It does so with the same charging options as the combustion versions and a good 300 kilometers of range.

From 2021 to 2022, the mid-size electric van market grew by 56 percent and of all electric vans, they account for 47 percent. As with its electric sister models, the Kangoo Van E-Tech 100% electric and the Master E-Tech 100% electric, the Trafic E-Tech Electric has been designed to meet the same requirements as the internal combustion engine model, with comprehensive equipment and load capacity.

Renault Trafic
Renault completes the electrification of its van series with the Trafic E-Tech 100% electric.

Panel van first in two versions

At market launch, the electric van will be available as a panel van in the L2H1 and L2H2 variants with a length of 5.5 meters and heights of 2.0 and 2.5 meters respectively. In addition, there will be the crew cab and the platform chassis in L2H1 dimensions. At a later date, the L1H1 panel van and crew cab with a length of 5.1 meters will complete the range.

Depending on the version, the stowage volume is 5.8 to 8.9 cubic meters. With a crew cab, it is 3.3 or 4.3 cubic meters, depending on the length variant. The maximum loading length extends up to 4.15 meters in the L2 long version with the through-loading flap in the partition wall for particularly long cargo.

Efficient e-drive from the Group shelf

Propulsion is provided by the same 90 kW (122 hp) synchronous engine as in the Kangoo. It can handle towing loads of up to 920 kilograms and (in the panel van) a payload of up to 1185 kilograms.

The flat, 315-kilogram 52-kWh battery is located under the cargo area floor, so that the cargo space is available without restriction. It is the same battery already used in the electric Renault Master and Zoe models. The WLTP range of up to 322 km for the (optional) 90 km/h speed-limited version meets the mobility needs of most customers in urban and peri-urban delivery services. The standard version accelerates to a maximum of 110 km/h and travels up to 297 km.

DC charging system comes later

A 3.7 kW wallbox can charge the battery from ten to 100 percent of its maximum capacity in 17 hours. But anyone who has to cover a few kilometers a day needs at least an 11 kW charging station (ten to 100 percent in five hours 42 minutes) or even one with 22 kW, which can charge from 15 to 80 percent in one hour 24 minutes. Because the battery is air-cooled and not liquid-cooled, the DC charging system, which will be available at a later date, will be able to accommodate a maximum of 50 kW. While that sounds limiting, Renault says research shows that in Europe, 87 percent of all daily trips are less than 60 kilometers.

245 Newton meters and powerful acceleration

During our test drives, the test vehicle loaded with 300 kilograms showed no weaknesses. The drive system was ready immediately after pressing the start button. The torque of 245 Newton meters ensured a powerful start. The electric Trafic accelerated smoothly and without jerking. What's more, with a gross vehicle weight of 3070 kg, the vehicle never felt heavy or sluggish. The chassis engineers did a good job here.

The recuperation is clearly noticeable

Two driving modes are available: Additional range can be gained by activating Eco mode, which reduces engine output to 60 kW (82 hp). Eco mode is automatically deactivated during heavy acceleration. The recuperation, which is fixed and optimized for payload, is clearly noticeable but always allows coasting. To save energy and gain range, the cabin can be preheated or precooled via a preheat function as long as the vehicle is connected to the charging station.

Modern driving assistants include blind spot warning, high beam assist, full LED headlights, and light and rain sensors. In addition, there are details specially designed for commercial vehicles such as the load-dependent Electronic Stability Program with Hill Start Assist and Brake Assist.

Racing-News: Ricardo Feller is ready for the title 🎥

AND IT CONTINUES Swiss teams still in the points. Ricardo Feller's third place in the DTM round at the Red Bull Ring is particularly valuable. The driver from Aargau thus remains in the title race.

Ricardo Feller is still in the title race after the penultimate round of the DTM at the Red Bull Ring. The driver from Aargau maintained his title chances with places 3 and 15 at Spielberg. His gap to leader Thomas Preining before the finale at Hockenheim is 31 points. Feller is 21 points behind second-placed Mirko Bortolotti. With a maximum of 56 points still up for grabs, nothing is lost yet for Feller.

DTM Red Bull Ring
Ricardo Feller can continue to hope for the title in the DTM.

Feller's performance in the first race was particularly remarkable. There, Ricky showed a sensational recovery from 26th on the grid and resolutely defended third place against Rene Rast in the final phase.

Abt driver Ricardo Feller: "That was tough, especially at the end with Rene. The BMW is so brutally fast on the straights, it's insane. It wasn't easy to leave him behind me."

Subject car tech well in shot

The drivers from Fach Auto Tech (center gallery) also picked up points in the 14th round of the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland season in Spielberg. Morris Schuring achieved a 13th as well as a fourth place. There were also points for Jasin Ferati. The rookie driver, who took fourth place on Saturday, finished third in the rookie classification the following day. Alexander Fach took two top-10 finishes with him ¡n Switzerland.

Emil Frey Racing (gallery on the right) was not able to achieve the results on the track of its partner Red Bull as initially hoped, but had a conciliatory finish with two top-10 results.

Louis Delétraz on the podium

There were also Swiss podium finishes to celebrate in the European Le Mans Series at Spa-Francorchamps. Louis Delétraz has almost become a tradition. The Geneva native finished third with his Racing Team Turkey, while Alexandre Coigny and Team Cool Racing did even better. The 48-year-old from Dully was second overall and winner in the LMP2 ProAm classification (ahead of Delétraz). In addition, Team Cool Racing also won the LMP3 class with the trio Chila/Sibert/Garcia.

First point for Dario Cabanelas

There is also a success story from Dario Cabanelas (gallery left). The driver from Vaud, who represented Switzerland in the Formula 4 category at last year's FIA Motorsport Games, scored his first point on his debut in Eurocup-3 on his very first race weekend in Jerez.

Marcel Steiner put a nice finishing touch to a successful season. The 2023 Swiss mountain champion finished second behind Christian Merli at the race in St.Agatha, Austria. Steiner lost 1.1 seconds to the South Tyrolean in the addition of the two race heats.

McLaren: Late tribute to the founder

VERDIENT Bruce McLaren, motorsport legend and founder of the racing and sports car company that still bears his name, has been posthumously awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Auckland.

Honorary doctor Bruce McLaren
Amanda McLaren, Bruce's daughter and a trustee of the Bruce McLaren Trust, accepted the university's award.

Engineer, innovator and racing driver Bruce McLaren, who was born in 1937 and died in an accident at Goodwood in 1970, was honored for his contributions to engineering in a ceremony at the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking, England. Daughter Amanda McLaren accepted the award on his behalf.

Successful racing driver

After Bruce McLaren completed the first year of his Bachelor of Engineering degree at the University of Auckland in New Zealand, he was the first recipient of the New Zealand International Grand Prix Association's Driver-to-Europe Scholarship. In 1959, at the age of 22, he became the youngest winner of a Formula One World Championship race - a record that remained unbroken for 44 years. Four years later, he founded Bruce McLaren Motor Racing Ltd. With teammate Denny Hulme, Bruce dominated the Can-Am championship series from 1966 to 1970.

Admired car brand

Today's McLaren is an affirmation of Bruce's vision as a manufacturer of lightweight, carbon-fiber supercars and as a pioneering racing team competing globally in Formula One, Indycar, Formula E, Extreme E and Esport. The award of the doctorate honoris causa to Bruce McLaren is one of four posthumous honorary doctorates to be conferred as part of the University of Auckland's 140th anniversary celebrations. The university also plans to establish an engineering research center to honor and build on Bruce McLaren's legacy.

The proposed Bruce McLaren Centre for High Performance Engineering will nurture future generations of New Zealand engineers and focus on the integration of high-performance materials and innovative design.

Extreme E: Team Abt Cupra XE full in the points 🎥

DOUBLE JOY Klara Andersson and Sébastien Loeb impressed with a second and a third place at rounds seven and eight of the season. At the Iceland X Prix in Sardinia, Abt Cupra XE scored a total of 35 points.

These successful rounds seven and eight of the current Extreme E season provide plenty of confidence and anticipation for the final event of the year. The season finale of the series for electric off-road racing cars is the Copper X Prix in Chile, which will be held on December 2 and 3. The video shows races five and six, which were also held in Sardinia.

Sébastien Loeb: "We had a good car, the team and Klara did a mega job in races seven and eight. Two podiums and the most points - of course we're happy about that, even though we would have liked to win."

Abt Cupra Extreme E
Klara Anderson and Sébastien Loeb experienced very different racing phases.

A flat tire cost points

On Saturday, the duo of Klara Andersson and Sébastien Loeb put in an impressive recovery and fought their way up from last to second place. However, the team was unlucky in the final because after a spirited overtaking maneuver, Klara Andersson caught a flat tire, but still steered the battered Cupra Tavascan XE to the finish and saved second place.

Klara Andersson: "It was pure chaos. We had to give everything for the two trophies and together with the whole team we are enormously proud of that. After second and third places, the goal for the two races in Chile should be clear," "

Best team of the weekend

On Sunday, victory seemed within reach, but not everything went perfectly here either. In the final, Sébastien Loeb attacked the leader as early as the first lap, but a defect in the wiper water system caused problems. The final thus contained an additional degree of difficulty for the Frenchman and later also for Klara Andersson, but they mastered it. Team Abt Cupra took third place on the second day and, with a total of 35 points, the most points over the entire weekend.

Volkswagen: Generation three of the model student 🎥

WORLD PREMIERE Volkswagen shows the completely newly developed Tiguan - already the third generation. Since its launch in 2007, the SUV has been one of the world's most successful contemporary VW models.

So far, more than 7.6 million buyers have opted for VW's compact SUV, and the new edition will go on sale in the first quarter of next year.

Kai Grünitz, Brand Board Member for Technical Development at VW, says: "The latest evolutionary stage of the modular transverse matrix, the MQB evo, forms the technical basis of the third Tiguan generation. Thanks to the great economies of scale of the MQB evo, Volkswagen is democratizing numerous high-tech developments such as the DCC Pro or the new hybrid drives with an electric range of around 100 kilometers."

Volkswagen Tiguan
The Tiguan has been completely revamped, but remains true to its familiar appearance.

DC fast charging as standard

AC charging will become faster in all eHybrid versions, and DC fast charging is to be available as standard for the first time. The new-generation digital cockpit offers maximum information and brings digital services and apps on board. In addition, new systems such as a pneumatic massage function for the front seats or the IQ.Light - HD matrix headlights used for the first time in the Tiguan have been derived from the top-of-the-range Touareg model.

Drive types according to your wishes

Thanks to MQB evo, various drive types can be realized in the Tiguan. For example, there will be turbo diesel engines, turbo gasoline engines, mild hybrid turbo gasoline engines and plug-in hybrid systems, which will in future be offered exclusively in conjunction with an automated manual transmission. As with the ID models and the new Passat, the gearshift will in future be selected via a steering column lever to the right of the steering wheel. An electronically controlled chassis ensures greater comfort and dynamics. In addition to numerous individual measures, Volkswagen has redesigned the DCC adaptive chassis control system.

Larger trunk holds 652 liters

The Tiguan III grows in length by around three centimeters. Height, width and wheelbase remain almost the same as in the predecessor. The trunk volume of the new generation shows just how good the use of space is. Although the new model is only slightly longer, its trunk volume has increased by 37 liters to 652 liters.

A foreign body in the forest

Anton Corbijn: "During a shoot spread over two days in the Dolomites, I focused on a subject less known for my work, in this casei car. We chose the Dolomites to stage the vehicle as a foreign body in the forest - like an animal ready to charge."

So far, Corbijn, a Dutchman born in 1955, has made a name for himself working with stars such as David Bowie, Miles Davis, Gerhard Richter, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Waits and others. For Depeche Mode and U2 he has a complete visual and creative style to elaborate.

Lamborghini Revuelto
The state-of-the-art technology from Sant'Agata Bolognese has inspired artist Anton Corbijn.

Enthusiasm for the idea

Anton Corbijn: "People say I have style. But I believe that style is defined by one's own inability to do it differently. Lamborghini was excited by the idea of incorporating this approach in its interpretation of the new Revuelto. With its carbon monofuselage and expressive design, the car represents the pinnacle of Lamborghini's achievements."

The Revuelto is powered by a 6.5-liter V12 engine supported by three electric motors. It thus produces a total output of 1015 hp.
