Functional and correctly adjusted headlights are particularly important in the dark season. For example, headlights that are set too high can dazzle oncoming traffic. If they are positioned too low, they do not illuminate the road properly. Markus Peter, Head of Technology & Environment at the Auto Gewerbe Verband Schweiz: "A check of the high and low beam, brake lights, fog lights and indicators at the AGVS garage should be an annual routine, just like fitting the winter wheels. If a lamp is not working, the broken bulb or blown fuse must be replaced as quickly as possible." While you can still replace halogen bulbs yourself with a little manual skill, this is usually no longer possible with xenon or LED headlights. However, these systems are generally durable and can last the life of the car. The only disadvantage: LEDs often cannot be replaced individually. In the event of a defect, a new light or a new headlight is therefore required.
