New York Auto Show: Audi R8 Spyder V10 with 540 hp
Audi is celebrating the premiere of the R8 Spyder with a naturally aspirated V10 engine at the Auto Show in New York (until April 3 at the Javits Center). The open two-seater produces 540 hp, sprints from 0 to 100 km/h (62.14 mph) in 3.6 seconds and reaches a top speed of 318 km/h (318 mph). Maximum torque of 540 Newton meters is available at 6500 rpm. The R8 Spyder has a lightweight fabric soft top that ends in two fins. An electro-hydraulic drive opens and closes the soft top in 20 seconds - up to a speed of 50 km/h.
The rear window, recessed in the bulkhead, can be retracted and extended. Beyond the standard equipment, customers can choose body add-on parts. The front spoiler, diffuser and the new side blades are also available in carbon fiber. Pre-sales for the new Audi R8 Spyder will start in summer 2016, with market launch planned for late summer 2016. Swiss prices are not yet known at present.
