Good results: Thanks to the good sales of used vehicles, the overall market in Switzerland can be assessed as stable.

The development in figures: 158,037 newly registered vehicles (-3,761 cars) is a respectable result in view of the previous year, which was characterized by extraordinary events. The used car market developed more positively: the 441,264 registered changes of ownership represent a new all-time high (+15,272 cars), which is not surprising given the historically low price level. The latter is the result of the sharp fall in new car prices and the oversupply. It therefore comes as no surprise that the average time a used car has been for sale has increased by five days compared to the previous year, bringing the total to 99 days. Despite the negative overall market, demand for alternatively powered passenger cars has risen again, although only vehicles with petrol hybrid engines (+19.1%) and purely electric vehicles (-0.2%) are of practical market relevance.
