Switzerland's Fastest Woman Drives an Xpeng

Switzerland’s fastest mother, Mujinga Kambundji (34), is back on the track. For more than ten years, the Bern-based sprinter dominated the Swiss track and field scene, and now, following the birth of her son Léon, she is trying to rejoin the world’s elite. Her entire family was there for her comeback. «For me, the race in Lucerne went well. I had a blast finally competing again,» Kambundji explained after the 100-meter dash. She isn’t worried that she still has «a ways to go» on her road back. Instead, the 34-year-old appreciates that her son Léon was there with Mujinga’s parents and her older sister Kaluanda, along with Kaluanda’s children. She is, after all, a family person who has always remained humble despite her success and embodies Swiss values.

As one of Switzerland’s most successful sprinters, she has proven that peak performance is achieved when talent meets passion, discipline, and continuous development. Kambundji appreciates not only the spacious interior but also the modern 800-volt architecture, which enables a long range and record-breakingly short charging times. With a charging power of up to 525 kW, the battery can be charged from 20 to 80 percent in ten minutes. The 4.89-meter-long SUV, available with rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, consumes about 20 kWh per 100 km, achieving a range of over 500 kilometers even with the smaller of the two battery options (79 or 93.1 kWh), it still achieves a range of over 500 kilometers.

And in its specialty—the sprint—even this otherwise gentle and quiet all-wheel-drive electric car shines: 0 to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds. «What really impresses me is the Xpeng’s overall performance,» says the Bern native. «I know I can rely on its well-engineered technology at all times—whether on short trips or longer journeys. That’s incredibly important to me as a sprinter, but also as a mother—just as much as the high level of standard safety features and, of course, all of Xpeng’s clever driver-assistance systems.»
