Outstanding year for Polestar Switzerland
The change in distribution with the introduction of classic brand dealers is paying off: Swiss Polestar CEO Andrea Caucci can look back on record sales in 2025 and is looking forward to new models in 2026.

Although the Swedes among the Chinese are under pressure in China (where Polestar builds cars), they are taking off in their home country of Europe (where Polestar is based and develops) and also in Switzerland. The electric car brand, which emerged from the Volvo sports division and, like Volvo, is now a subsidiary of the Chinese Geely Group, sold 60,119 cars worldwide last year, a third more than in 2024.
Swiss Polestar CEO Andrea Caucci can also look back on an excellent past year. The former CFO and experienced car manager took over at the helm in July and recorded an impressive 1073 enrollments for 2025, an increase of 77.9 percent. The secret: Polestar dealers instead of just online sales.

Swiss dealer network grows
«We also grew significantly faster than the general Swiss electrical sales, which only increased by 15.4%,» reveals the 36-year-old Italian. «The conversion of our retail model in particular has given us a big boost. We started with four Polestar locations in the first half of the year and now we have nine retail locations.» Polestar continues to rely on the online sales model, but now also on traditional brand retailers. «Customers need retailers they can talk to. The garage will remain important as a point of contact in the future,» says Caucci.

No wonder, then, that the Swiss dealer network is set to continue growing. «We want to add two to three new locations this year. In total, we are aiming for around 15 dealers by 2028 in order to put the planned sales growth on a stable footing,» says the Polestar boss. He adds that Polestar is of course also pleased with the 65 service points across Switzerland that it now has thanks to the use of the Swiss Volvo dealer network and which serve as points of contact for Polestar drivers.
Last year, the Polestar models met the taste of Mr. and Mrs. Swiss: the five-year-old Polestar 2 increased by almost a fifth with 405 registrations, while sales of the sporty SUV Polestar 3 rose by as much as 58.2 percent with 125 units. «The Polestar 3 will receive the new 800-volt platform in 2026 for more power and faster charging,» adds Caucci. «We are also replacing the central processor with a more powerful one - even in models that have already been delivered.» And with 543 registrations, the Polestar 4 SUV coupé has also been well received.

Polestar top model arrives now
Caucci and his team are now looking forward above all to the Polestar 5, which was presented at the IAA in Munich and Auto Zürich in the fall. The GT, which is also based on an 800-volt platform and has 650 kW/884 hp and a range of 678 kilometers, will be delivered to the first Swiss customers this summer.
Anyone who wants to take a seat in the cool electric GT and new top model earlier - at least virtually - can do so in the popular video game «Gran Turismo 7» and from January 22 to February 2, 2026 at the Polestar Space at Sihlstrasse 9 in Zurich, among other locations. The Swiss Polestar boss is hoping for an additional boost from the Polestar 7. The electric compact SUV will roll off the production line in a brand-new Volvo factory in Košice, Slovakia, is due to start production in 2028 and will drive Polestar sales even higher from then on.
