A man of conviction with a special request

When Porsche announced the Taycan Turbo GT as its new top-of-the-line sports model, one thing was clear to the Swiss car enthusiast: his next electric sports car was going to be something truly special. In collaboration with the Porsche Center Lugano and the experts at Sonderwunsch—who, regardless of the model year, don’t just build any Porsche, but precisely the Porsche of your dreams—the most powerful Taycan was transformed into a unique model that also takes customization in the electric vehicle sector to a whole new level.

Uncharted territory even for special requests

«For many years, the Special Options Program has been the spearhead of our customization offerings,» explains Alexander Fabig, Head of Product and Customization at Porsche. «However, customizing a Taycan to such an extensive degree based on customer requests was uncharted territory even for us.» In total, the list of special requests for this vehicle includes around 30 items; more than half of them are completely new developments and have thus been implemented in this sports car for the first time.

A Moment of Happiness Thanks to a Special Color

The customer came to the custom-order experts with a clear vision and a design rendering of his dream car. The inspiration for the concept came from the play of light over Lake Lugano, when the water’s surface shimmers in shades of orange and gold at sunrise and sunset. This sight evokes a special feeling in the customer. Together, they discussed which design elements could be used to reflect these emotions in the vehicle’s exterior and interior. Three in-person meetings at Porsche in Zuffenhausen and numerous rounds of coordination between the customer and the Special Requests team guided the process, which ultimately resulted in a Taycan Turbo GT that uniquely combines sporty dynamism with classic elegance.

«Like Switzerland, Sonderwunsch stands for individuality, quality, and genuine craftsmanship,» explains Holger Gerrmann, CEO of Porsche Schweiz AG. «With this Taycan Turbo GT, Sonderwunsch impressively demonstrates how personal creativity can give a vehicle an unmistakable character.» The customization begins with the «Nordic Gold Metallic» paint finish. Subtle contrasts add further accents: A Porsche crest in Turbonit adorns the hood, while the upper portion of the exterior mirror housings, the B-pillars, and the Gurney flap of the adaptive rear spoiler, for example, are finished in high-gloss black.

Pepita, fine materials, and thoughtful details

Inside, the 815 kW/1,108 PS Taycan Turbo GT also consistently follows its own unique color and material design. The seats are a particular eye-catcher: the center panels are upholstered in black/slate gray Pepita fabric, surrounded by fine smooth leather in pebble gray and black Racetex on the side bolsters and headrests. Contrast stitching in Chalk, along with piping and the embroidered «turbo GT» lettering in Mojave Beige, add elegant accents. The dashboard and door panels also combine pebble gray and black with color-coordinated stitching in chalk and Mojave Beige. The special storage compartment lid is another testament to the attention to detail: a custom logo is embossed into the pebble-gray leather.

A Look at More Porsche Dreams

The Porsche Active Ride suspension with GT-specific tuning comes standard. In dynamic driving situations, it ensures an almost perfect connection to the road through balanced wheel load distribution. Through intelligent lightweight construction measures, Porsche was able to reduce the weight of the Taycan Turbo GT by up to 75 kilograms compared to the Taycan Turbo S. Incidentally, exactly how much the Swiss Taycan enthusiast’s net worth was reduced by his unique custom request remains a secret. By the way, anyone who has their own special requests or wants to check out other Porsche dreams that have already come true can do so—even without putting their own household budget at risk— Do it here.
