In 2015, the economy was slowed considerably by the strength of the Swiss franc. However, the dampening effects of exchange rates on the economy are likely to subside over the course of 2016. In contrast, the international economy has lost momentum in recent quarters and there are currently no signs of a significant acceleration in global growth. Against this backdrop, the Expert Group of the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) expects GDP growth of just 1.4 % this year.
