Smurf Museum: Discover hidden treasures
WHERE YOU MEET The Schlumpf Museum in Mulhouse, Alsace, is celebrating its 40th birthday with a special exhibition well worth seeing. More than 450 classic models from the most renowned manufacturers can be admired.

The National Automobile Museum - Collection Schlumpf displays one of the most comprehensive collections of classic cars in the world. This includes more than 450 special models of the most innovative car manufacturers, for example Bugatti, Mercedes-Benz, Maserati, Rolls-Royce and Citroën. Named after the Schlumpf brothers, the classic car museum in Alsace, which offers an exhibition area of more than 20,000 square meters, was created in 1982 in a disused spinning mill.
Vehicles of all sizes and brands
Forty years after its founding, the museum is now opening another chapter in its history book. As the main event in the 40th birthday celebrations, the Smurf Collection will showcase hidden treasures from the first four decades.
Automotive exhibits include models from pioneering brands, vehicles with particularly large engines to popular microcars.
A center of cultural life
Besides cars and bikes, other collectibles are also exhibited. The last part of the special exhibition is dedicated to the development of the company's premises.
Documents show how the spinning mill was first used to display a wide variety of collectibles, and later the property became a car museum and a center of cultural life.
