Located between the Fabia and Octavia, the Skoda Rapid Spaceback is in the compact car class. The modified fog lamps shine in the redesigned lower part of the bumper. Black-tinted taillights give the rear end a sportier look. Another distinguishing feature is the extended rear window (standard from Style), which makes it easy to load the trunk. The wheels and wheel trim are available in several new designs in 16 and 17 inches. In the interior, decorative inlays, round instruments and air intakes have been redesigned
New intelligent light
The main headlights now shine with energy-efficient bi-xenon lamps, while the daytime running lights use LED technology and are now located in the main headlights. When the driver sets the turn signal, the LED unit becomes an LED turn signal. The light assistant activates the daytime running lights when the ignition is pressed, and the driving lights are switched on or off automatically depending on the lighting conditions. Finally, the high-beam assistant uses a sensor to detect vehicles ahead and oncoming traffic, and dips the headlights if necessary.

Efficient three-cylinder TSI engines
All units feature brake energy regeneration and an automatic stop-start system. For the first time, a 1.0-liter TSI engine is available in two output levels:
1.0 TSI with 70 kW (95 hp), top speed 184 km/h, 0 - 100 km/h in 11.0 sec., combined fuel consumption 4.4 l/100 km, CO2 101 g/km
1.0 TSI with 81 kW (110 hp), top speed 198 km/h, 0 - 100 km/h in 9.8 sec., combined fuel consumption 4.5 l/100 km, CO2 104 g/km.
All data are preliminary.
Thanks to its compact design and aluminum crankcase, the engine weighs ten kilograms less than the 1.2-liter unit previously used and runs particularly smoothly and quietly. In addition to the two 1.0 TSIs, a 1.4 TSI with 92 kW (125 hp) and a 1.6 TDI with 85 kW (116 hp) are available.

WLAN hotspot and help at the touch of a button
Passengers are "always on" via WLAN access if desired. One of the new Skoda Connect services is online traffic information, which transmits the traffic flow on the selected route in real time and suggests alternative routes in the event of a traffic jam. Other services include information on filling stations including current fuel prices, parking spaces, current news and weather.
Care Connect services include an automatic emergency call that connects to an emergency call center after a restraint system is triggered or can also be operated manually, as well as the breakdown call, which also answers questions about vehicle technology. Proactive Service makes it possible to transmit service-relevant vehicle data to the workshop in good time before a maintenance appointment. Using the Connect app on the smartphone, the driver can remotely call up information about the vehicle, the closing status of windows, doors or sunroof, or the remaining fuel level at any time. It is also possible to send navigation destinations to the car or to have the vehicle's current parking position displayed on the smartphone.
Simply clever
Ideas that make passengers' stay on board even more pleasant in the Rapid Spaceback include the two USB ports in the rear, the ice scraper in the gas cap, luggage compartment reversible mat with one carpeted and one rubberized side, holder for the high-visibility vest under the driver's seat, umbrella in a compartment under the front passenger seat, portable waste garbage can, USB port and multimedia holder in the center console, ticket holder on the windshield, various cup holders, nets on the inside of the front seats or a net program for the trunk.
