One in 18 people in Uri has had their car checked for energy efficiency by a Swiss Automobile Industry Association (AGVS) garage this year, saving fuel and money. The 16 AEC-certified garages between Flüelen and Hospental carried out 2055 checks in the first ten months of 2016. This is also the Swiss record in absolute figures! The Principality of Liechtenstein follows in second place by a respectable margin, with one in 164 motorists having their vehicle checked, ahead of the Canton of Fribourg (one in 250). The Liechtenstein garages form an AGVS section with St. Gallen and Appenzell. In absolute figures, the canton of Zurich (1485 AECs) came second behind the canton of Uri, ahead of the canton of Fribourg (1239).
