A total of 232,183 new cars (-7410 passenger cars) were sold from January to September. The market analysts at Eurotax Switzerland have therefore raised their estimate for the year as a whole to 315,000 new registrations, which would correspond to a slight decline of 2.5% compared to the previous year. The used car market closed its third quarter of sales slightly negative: thanks to good figures in the first half of the year, the nine-month statistics nevertheless showed a plus of 2.1%. A total of 652,062 vehicles changed hands (+13,633 cars). By the end of the year, Eurotax anticipates a further slight slowdown to a total of 875,000 changes of ownership (+1.5%), with the number of days on the road remaining high (currently: 99 days, +4.2%).
