Audi: More electric pep for the e-tron S 🎥

SANFTE POWER The e-tron S is the new top model in the Four Rings electric SUV range. Its main features are additional power and enhanced driving dynamics. This means driving fun with almost no limits. With a range of 360 kilometers, the new Audi ranks between the e-tron 50 and e-tron 55. With a range of 360 kilometers, the new Audi ranks between the e-tron 50 and e-tron 55.

When the Audi e-tron S gets going at full boost, it manages the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds thanks to 973 Newton meters of torque and 370 kilowatts (503 hp) of engine power. Respect, because this electric vehicle weighs 2.6 tons!

But even in normal mode D, with 320 kilowatts (435 hp), there are always enough power reserves available. In terms of range, the newcomer positions itself between the e-tron 50 and e-tron 55 with around 360 kilometers (according to WLTP).

Optimized Quattro drive system
In order to bring so much electric power safely to the road, Audi developers have given the Quattro drive system a major facelift.

The rear electric motor of the basic versions is now installed at the front in the new S and S Sportback model pair, and the front motor of the already familiar models works at the rear in the new one - albeit in a double version.

More dynamic driving characteristics
Equipped with three motors, the S models are now not only more powerful, but also offer much more dynamic driving characteristics thanks to intelligent drive control. During normal driving, only the rear electric motors drive the vehicle for efficiency reasons. The front one is activated as soon as the driver demands more power or when traction drops.

The two rear motors are each connected to the wheel via an input gearbox, so they work independently of each other. This enables perfect torque vectoring. This means that exactly the right torque is always sent to the drive wheels.

Agility and traction are therefore always optimal. When negotiating curves at speed, a steering effect sets in, which helps to keep the vehicle under control without any problems.

e-tron S
Typical for the S models are the larger air curtains and the widened wheel arches.

Aerodynamics improvement
Thanks to the optional virtual exterior mirrors and other measures in the bodywork
the new models offer very good aerodynamic properties. The image provided by the camera mirrors is displayed on small monitors in the front doors - which requires some time to get used to, as the driver's gaze still easily strays elsewhere.

The market launch of the e-tron top models is in November, with prices of 99,900 (e-tron S) and 102,000 Swiss francs (e-tron S Sportback) respectively.
