Nissan: New diesel for NT400 light trucks

New name, more efficiency: for the new model year, the Nissan NT400 has dropped the "Cabstar" suffix. Under the hood of the light truck is now a 3.0-liter diesel engine, which is available in two power levels and meets the Euro 6 emissions standard. Nissan NT400: As before, there is a choice of two weight classes (3.5 and 4.5 tons) and three wheelbases (2500, 2900 and 3400 millimetres). The overhangs have been standardized.

The diesel engine already familiar from the Nissan NT500 replaces the previous 2.5-liter unit. The new four-cylinder develops 130 hp and a maximum torque of 300 Nm for the 150 hp version. Power transmission is always handled by a six-speed manual gearbox. In order to meet the strict environmental regulations, the NT400 is equipped with a diesel particulate filter and SCR exhaust gas purification technology. By adding an AdBlue urea solution, the so-called selective catalytic reduction minimizes nitrogen oxide emissions. The new Nissan NT400 is available to order now, with deliveries starting in September 2016. Prices start at CHF 34,365 for the chassis with single cab (platform trailer from CHF 36,849). The 3-sided tipper, which is only available with a single cab, is available from 45,198 francs.
