Mechanics, electrics, electronics or IT - hardly any basic vocational training is as varied as that in the automotive industry. Technology is evolving and the professional requirements are changing with it. To ensure that the high quality of basic technical training can keep pace with this dynamic, the course content is regularly reviewed and adapted.
Quality of basic vocational training
The AGVS garage association is proud of the quality of its basic vocational training and higher vocational training, the wide range of which offers excellent development and career opportunities. But this does not only have advantages: Other industries also benefit by hiring professionals from the automotive industry. AGVS Executive Board member Olivier Maeder: "For us at the AGVS and for garage owners, it is not very pleasing when well-trained and broadly skilled professionals are poached from us, but this is nothing new. Automotive specialists were and are in demand and welcome in many sectors."
The new apprenticeship year starts in summer
What is a nuisance for the AGVS and its members is a big plus for professionals in the automotive industry. Their skills and abilities are in demand - in the automotive industry, but also in related sectors. The new apprenticeship year starts in the summer. A large number of apprenticeships in the automotive industry have already been filled. Nevertheless, more than 500 apprenticeships were still open in mid-April.
