According to the supplier, this brings versatility in a new dimension: individualization with more than 1000 different variants is to be possible. In addition, an electric drive is a building block for locally emission-free overall system solutions.
First outlook
Mercedes-Benz Vans recently showed a first preview of the new Sprinter at the Sprinter Innovation Campus in Stuttgart. The adVANce future initiative, which was presented in 2016, plays a central role and will enter series production for the first time next year with the new Sprinter.
Attributes of the new Sprinter
The third generation of the Sprinter, which will be unveiled in February 2018, fulfills the claim of being the innovation driver and system solution for an entire vehicle class with completely redesigned networking services. One example: delivering goods on the same day they are ordered, as in the case of groceries, for example, is gaining more and more market share. To survive in this highly competitive environment, the fleet must be integrated more strongly than ever into corporate processes. The range of tasks for intelligent vehicles is growing accordingly. Modern commercial vehicles are thus transforming themselves from pure transport vehicles to platforms for logistics concepts.
