New look: it is above all the front design that makes the new 308 stand out. Under the hood, on the other hand, completely new engines are used that already meet the next higher Euro 6c emissions standard.
Top model with eight-speed automatic
The top engine for the 308 in the GT is the BlueHDi 180, which is also coupled with an 8-speed automatic, supplied by transmission specialist Aisin. In the second new diesel, the BlueHDi 130, Peugeot uses a special, patented geometry of the combustion chambers, which has already proven itself in the 24-hour race in Le Mans. The SCR catalytic converter in the BlueHDi 130 is installed particularly close to the engine. This technical trick significantly accelerates exhaust gas treatment and thus the cleaning effect.
Gasoline engine also revised
The PureTech gasoline three-cylinder engines have also been revised to reduce emissions at source. In the PureTech 130, a gasoline particulate filter is used in addition to the catalytic converter. The six-speed manual transmission used is a new development.
Numerous assistants
The 3008, which was already named "Car of the Year" at this year's Geneva Motor Show, introduced numerous modern assistance systems. These are now also used in the 308. For the first time, PSA is also offering an adaptive cruise control system in the Peugeot 308, which even works to a standstill in conjunction with the automatic transmission and regulates the speed.
